Registered Nurse (RN) – 1:1 School Assignment

Gig Healthcare is partnering with a school district in Lackawanna, New York to hire a Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time 1:1 school-based assignment supporting a medically complex student.
This position offers a consistent Monday–Friday school schedule and the opportunity to provide individualized care and support throughout the school year.
Qualifications:
- Active New York State RN license
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience
- School or pediatric experience preferred
- Experience working with medically complex students or patients strongly preferred
- Compassion, patience, and strong communication skills
Assignment Details:
- Full-time, Monday–Friday
- School-day schedule
- 1:1 assignment with a medically complex student
- Provide daily health monitoring, care, and support
- Work collaboratively with school staff, families, and the student’s care team
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow physician orders, medical care plans, and applicable IEP/504 requirements
- Provide direct 1:1 nursing care throughout the school day
- Monitor the student’s condition and respond appropriately to medical needs
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered
- Complete required daily nursing documentation
- Communicate relevant health information to the school team and caregivers
- Support the student’s safe participation in the school environment
